Flutes has 2 comfortable air conditioned vehicles which seat up to 8 and 14 passengers respectively (including the driver), and is fully licensed to provide passenger transport services. We provide tour and shuttle services for guests visiting the area, as well as for local residents.

Airport Shuttle Services

Choco-Tours

An exciting new opportunity for discerning chocolate lovers to indulge themselves in the Whangarei area.

First, take a guided tour of the beautiful Whangarei Heads peninsula. The route essentially follows Whangarei Heads Road as it meanders alongside Whangarei Harbour past bays and coves and between volcanic peaks, such as Mount Manaia and Mount Aubrey, until ultimately reaching the Pacific Coast at the spectacular Ocean Beach.. We hope this will give you an impression of how much the area has to offer, and that you will come back for longer next time. Maybe to 'walk the walks', climb Mount Manaia, or simply relax at the beach...

Then the tour culminates in Chocolate Tasting. We stop for morning/afternoon tea. Your host, Kay will talk to you about the Chocolatier's art. She will briefly describe the processes involved, answer your questions, and give you the opportunity to taste 6-10 different flavours of delicious hand-made chocolates.(To see more about Kay's chocolates, visit www.chocolatesandcupcakes.co.nz )

Vineyard Tours

Throughout the Summer we will be running a weekly vineyard tour every Saturday .Leaving Whangarei at around 10:30 am, we will visit 4 of the vineyards in the Kerikeri area. Lunch will be taken at the first stop and there will be tastings at each of the 4 vineyards. The vineyards we visit typically include some of the following: Ake Ake, Marsden Estate, Pukeko Vineyard and Fat Pig Vineyard

Generally we will leave the last venue in time to be back in Whangarei by about 6pm.

Local tours can be tailored to meet your requirements, such as vists to:

• Whangarei Falls
• A gentle tour around Whangarei Heads, visiting a selection of our beautiful beaches- with a stop for morning or afternoon tea! This tour can also include chocolate tasting, details on request

        The Zion Wildlife Gardens, famous for the Lion Man tv show

Further Afield

Other attractions are further afield, but still within easy reach, and you can therefore use Flutes as a well positioned tour base from which to see more of Northland. A few suggestions:

• A day trip to The Bay of Islands,just one hour away from Whangarei. Visit Paihia,Russell,and/or Kerikeri
• Enjoy any of the Fullers Great Sights water excursions
• Sail on the R Tucker Thompson
• A trip to Cape Reinga and 90 Mile Beach-we can link you with the coach service
• Visit Waipu Museum and hear all about the intrepid settlers who moved from Scotland to Nova Scotia and ultimately to New Zealand’s Northland

• Walking trails: by taking you to the start and/or collecting you when you finish, we can help you to thoroughly enjoy the chance to 'Walk The Walks' on Whangarei Heads

• The Pines is nearest, just 15 minutes away
• Fishing: charter trips are available. Choose to:
  • - fish for snapper in the harbour, or;
  • game fish, and chase Marlin further out

Don’t stay overnight in Auckland! See the show and let us drive you there and back! You can sit back and enjoy whatever the event you choose without worrying about having to drive!
